Unexpected Friendship

Unexpected friendship, those are the best kind,

No matter how much time goes by, they never stay behind,

We carry them with us wherever we go,

because they’re directly connected to our soul,

As strong as diamonds, yet as pure as gold,

The story of a great friendship never gets old,

Though we age and eventually pass away,

Our friendship remains in the light of day,

Friendships are made and remain even when we’re gone,

To show us that a friendship has a life of its own,

Friendships are not physical and go beyond what is seen,

It’s an invisible power that ties us within,

A bond that can never be broken,

A sentiment that even in silence is outspoken,

A year ago we met and never knew we were compatible,

Now the thought of not having you close seems almost unbearable,

The unexpected brought you towards me and now is taking you away,

And I greatly value the tears I shade today,

As I remember the countless moments we shared,

Among the many you were always there,

Showing me that you cared,

Even in the face of fear I was never scared,

Even when the days grew long,

I was glad you were there to tag along,

Thanks to you I was never alone,

But today this journey called life if tearing us apart,

Independently where we go I’ll always carry you like a purple heart,

Because you were awarded to me for the many battles I faced in this phase of life,

That showed me that even in the face of difficulty we can strive,

Life goes on and we head our separate ways,

But I promise I’ll carry you with me until the end of days,

And as I get laid in a coffin and finally put to rest,

You will be a purple heart I’ll carry on my chest.

Unexpected

Salt and pepper,

Perfect Companions forever,

Separated by one endeavor,

Goals and Objectives,

Different opinions and perspectives,

Countless moments shared,

A dream turned into a nightmare,

You had everything I ever wanted but it’s not my place to put your life on hold,

I’m just going to live my life waiting for out story to unfold,

Maybe our paths will cross,

And you’ll know that all is not lost,

And everything I said from the beginning,

Had a purpose and gave my life a meaning,

At the end of the day,

Every one walks away

And I am here left to stay,

wish I could do things a different way,

But life is moving at a slow pace while I'm on a highway,

Big dreams and expectations,

Got me walking in my own direction,

Striving for victory and not deception,

The light in my eyes,

Is the only thing keeping me alive,

Years ago everything in my life was falling apart,

Because I chose not mend my broken heart,

But let it bleed out until it was completely dry,

But this changed when you caught my eye,

You touched me in a way I hadn’t anticipated,

And caught me totally off guard,

I fell, questioning if you had me manipulated,

Because for you I have fallen hard,

My dreams have no boundaries and go beyond borders,

But right now they’re all over the place and have no particular order,

And organizing them with take time, patience and perseverance,

Reason being I chose to be alone due to my past experience,

Recently I’ve lost a lot of time just thinking,

Isolated myself in silence and heard my own heart beating,

Figuring out what’s my next step,

And what’s the best way to adapt,

I’ll do what it takes to reach my goal,

Without losing my sanity or self-control,

While preserving the purity of my soul,

Meeting you was totally unexpected,

And I never thought I would ever regret it,

Which I don’t think I do,

But now it’s just been hard imagining a life without you,

But that’s a burden I have chosen to bare,

Praying that one day I’ll wake up and you’ll be there,

Ready to receive me after I’ve reached my goal,

I’ve noticed that praying for this is completely selfish,

But I never imagined that my life would be like this.
